OK, I have a question. I purchased my tickets through the website but I'm not sure how to claim them. Will they be mailed to me or do I need to take my receipt to the event, or something else? It's been a tad over 2 weeks and I would have thought I'd have gotten something if I was going to.

I found out that due to a printing problem that the orders are about 10 days late this year, over 800 have been sent this week the rest should go next week......A promoter for the Chrysler Classic events told me this summer that they purposely wait to send tickets no sooner that 2 weeks ahead because humans have a tendency to misplace them if they get them to soon!!! Works for me ...............now what was I doing??????

Go to Mopars at the Strip.com for all the details. some of the guys camp out right in the pits.Last year the slanters even had a teepee to sleep in. rest rooms near by to wash up and stuff like that. heck pack some food in a cooler and sleep in your car. You don't have to race but you will have a good time. if you go once, you will be racing at the next one.

All of the above happened to me 5 years ago, now I'm hooked.

OK all you Slant Sixers, 3 weeks and counting until the Las Vegas season opener Slant Six race.

All you have to do is drive your car to Las Vegas and back. If you want to plan ahead, pre-register or just pay at the door.
Once you get there, look around for the SL6 pit area or drop me a PM and I will make sure we "connect".

Once you get hooked-up with the SL6 racers, the rest of the week-end is "cake". Just ask anyone who has come-out to a SSRN event, you are "family" and we will show you the ropes, help make your car run, feed you food, help you load free engines into your car, help you 'paint the town', bail you out... you get the idea.

After the Strip anyone planning on the So-Cal Mopar Shootout in Fontana on Memorial Day weekend (www.moparshootout.com)? They are willing to do a Slant Six class if they hear from anyone interested in racing. Costs less than Vegas, closer to LA, BC & the Bay Area, free camping for the weekend. Sorry Rick, further from Tucson. They are waiting for e-mails from racers so they can add the class. This has been posted in the Events & Racing Q&A sections for a couple of weeks & they haven't gotten any response. Won't happen unless they hear from you.

OK. I got my ticket, or rather, wristbands and decal. What puzzles me is how in @#$% are we supposed to keep those wristbands intact for 3 days? I do ( much to the relief of all attending ) intend to shower and change clothes at least a couple of times, and wifee might want to indulge in a warm soak; I can't see that flimsy Tyvek holding up to all that.

I just make the loop as big as I can....... then slip the wristband on and off my arm.

Another local trick is to fasten it to you ball cap.

I'm not sure I can make the loop big enough but I did think of that. I guess failing that I'll fasten it with tape or something. I rarely wear a ball cap and never for more than an hour or so at that.
