you should do as lou suggested and go with .020/.022, i set mine at .024 because with the heat that high compression creates, if the gap is to close the ends will hit when they exspand and pin will be pulled out of the piston when it sticks in the bore :wink:

I have mine at 0.022" for an 11:1 motor, so hopefully that's enough!

Some pistons call for different gaps. Hypertec come to mind.

the position company set them at the .003 for a race application but I am building mine to drive almost daily I think I am going to Go will Lue and set them at .022 of may be .021. Thanks for the help god knows I need it

You really need a bigger gap for racing, not smaller. 0.020-0.022" should do fine.
