Got my gas gauge working, it was a hole in the float(full of gas, to heavy) that made the gauge read empty, plus when you have enough gas out of the tank, so you can take the sending unit out, i found that it was not enough gas to even register on the gauge......just a little info.

Also added a better ground, that ground strap is not good enough....for the years on the car.

Does any one know if you can buy just a replacement float? Would have to be a lot cheaper than buying the whole sending unit, if yours checks out o.k.. Thanks

If your float is brass, one can solder it to make it air tight. Remove all the gasoline & vapor from the fuel logged float before soldering on it.
