When did you hit 6100 rpm was it before the end or just ahead of the end?
You may have run out of your motor's power. Either way the 28" tires, should as Seymour said do you real good, without having to change the rear gears.

madmax/6 how did you get your car 2650 lbs with driver? The best I could get my car was 2650lbs with out driver and everthing cut out. Also another thing with the hp it never workes out close for me, my car is 2810 lbs with me in it and went 13.9 on the 1/4 at 93 mph but on the dyno it had 148 rear wheel hp

Is your car a street car or race only car ? i have all that done + lots lots more like alumum inner fenders, rad, rad suport trunk floor, firewall and floor pans also fiberglass fenders, hood, trunk , and race seats

Street car,I drive it locally,not in the rain because I dont have wipers,,,remember this is a 62 Signet,,,the lightest car to start with,No fiberglass,,steel and some aluminum,seats are out of a Camaro,with padding and carpet,,,quite a few lightening holes,,and 40lbs worth of sub frame connectors,weight slip at the scales with 5 gal of gas was 2,466 ,add my 180lbs and you got 2,646
