Martin, what sort of cars were raced with these engines? Do you have any information on horsepower numbers? I presume that they used gasoline for fuel.

It looks like 3.3 liters would be 3.62 X 3.25" for 201 cubic inches.

There is much more information about these special Argentinean slant six parts if you look through the voluminous postings of argentina-slantsixer.

Thank you providing the excellent pictures that I can even see on my anemic dial up connection.

You are wright Zilla. This head has thicker walls all over, there is no way you can get ports this big with a standard head.

They were putting out 370 HP at the flywheel as far as I know. And for the camshaft I'll have to find out, but keep in mind that the camshafts on the TC (Turismo Carretera) is one of the element without any regulation from the ACTC, so the engine builders play a lot on different cams. But i think I can find out somo known cams specs for you with some time.

This heads are no longer manufactured. Yes you can buy one and have it sent to the USA. As I said this heads are not cheap and goes from USD 1800 to crazy USD 3000, denpendind on who ported it, how it perform, if it's bare or complete. The above pics are for a full modified head, the engine builders/racers got this heads from the ACTC as a bre, partially machined casting, already with the heart-shaped combustion chamber, but without any other porting on it.

As far as I know is an Argentina Only special casting, developed in the late '70s by the racers and Chrysler Argentina. They put it in the 1979/80 Dodge Coronado and 1979/1983 Dodge D100 / D200 trucks to homologate it for the races, since tha engine blocks has to be a production one. It has thicker walls all over. It has 3 freeze plugs.

Here I made a mistake before, I think when SlantSixDan ask me about the "906" Block i told him the the biggest overbore you could do was 0.80 , but thas is for the regular "294" block. Sorry Dan my mistake.

But again, those crazy 91/92mm bores are only for race engine were everything has been modified for circuit race. Engines that are tear down after every race, every 15 days ...

Holy crap that is the most impressive piece of slant six racing hardware I've ever seen. WOW, just wow.

Do you have information on the actual manufacturer? It would be nice to see if they can be contacted to start another run of these.

X2... If the machinery still exists and noone in argentina is interested maybe the australians could pick up the ball. And for what its worth they would still sell if cast in iron only. This is a great lead on a performance head for our slants.

As far as I know this foundry went bankrupt in the late 90 ... but i'll try to find out about it. I don't think that a cast iron mold could be use for aluminum casting because of the 7% of shape reduction after casting.

If there is real interest on this heads I'll put some time doing some detective work trying to find the foundry Co. and asking them about a new batch.

Or maybe to find some used heads that might be for sale, but remember that this heads will surely be all tricked out.

Anyway the more info I'll found on this heads, or maybe even another one that might be ported different from this I'll post it here.

What would be real interesting is if Martin happened to run across the original molds and was able to obtain them. Even if sand-cast, there'd have to be some molds somewhere, unless they were scrapped out and are now parts of something else.

Martin what he means by this is, a few of our lead guys would probably be the best qualified to have one and look it over and do some research and or some "reverse" engineering with it.
