Weber makes this 1 barrel that would only run 320 a pair.

This would be almost perfect right?

That's cool, I didn't know that Weber made a 1 bbl. If you do decide to go the dual 2bbl route, I would suggest just getting the mounting pads drilled for the 2bbl as apposed to using 2 to 1 adapters.

Your doing what? I'm hearing two barrel to 1bbl, Batch injection and carburetors.

Slow down. Don't spend money on anything yet. You've got some research to do.

What are you trying to do, what use will the car see, and what shape is the engine in?

I had a slant that ran great, got good mileage, and was completely shot. Raced it a season, then tore it down. All the rings were broken, and the bores looked terrible. Once it started making power, it went south in a hurry.

Carb adapters are generally not worth scrap weight. Take a deep breath, and start perusing the engine build matrix, the articles, and search here. There are many years of data and pros and cons. Working with a slant, your going to have to know how to tune. It's not like running a small block. If it isn't right on, it isn't going to run worth crud.

All the parts have to work with each other. Any missing dot on an i, or fail to cross a T, and you have something that won't impress the family spaniel.

Oh sorry if I'm being unclear. I've got a 170 right now running great no smoke just a leaking Carter. All stock minus a Magna-pak exhaust. My overall goal is to turbo a slant. Not necessary my 170. Like I was saying I found a spare motor that is a 225 for 100$. Which I plan on tearing down and go through it completely with a batch injection from 3.8 Buick like in the article by Bob dibiase.

But for now I've got a running slant 170 with leaking carb that's missing parts and is barely together. I just got a Offy dual carb intake and I was trying to figure my best route. Sorry for confusion.

My dart is a Four door so I dont see it being a 12 second car.

But I really do want it on the drag strip.

I got the offy thinking it would be a weekend project for "flash" "bling" at car shows, etc. And to run efficiently by giving more even flow.

It looks like I rushed a little, yes.

OK, had me worried a bit there.

Don't know about the Offy 1 bbls. I've no experience with them.

Adapters that force a bigger carb into a smaller throat (2bbl into 1bbl hole) tend to make for funky issues... having two of them working in sync might be a real bear to tune.

Years ago a company was converting the dual Offy manifold to hold a pair of Weber progressive 2bbl carbs. Search ProLine Dual Weber in Google images. They looked great!

But man.... dual 2bbls seems like a lot of fuel and air for a 170 cid engine.

Take your time, do your planning, spend wisely, and enjoy the results.

The 2bbl to 1bbl seems odd, it seems to raise the carb 3 or so inches from the intake. The ICH 34 weber 1bbl that is around 130 CFM from what I found online. So 260 CFM with the two ICH 34s. The 1bbl Carter BBS is about 150 CFM.

I am going to guess your BBS is leaking from the top? Nothing that can't be easliy fixed. A ride on the stationary belt sander for the top of the fuel bowl and the top.

That will get it running for a while. Check the play in the shaft especially on the passenger side.

Let me know if you want to get rid of that carb. I recently acquired one on an engine I just bought.
