Definitely the wrong wires. Preferring solid-core wires is like preferring nondetergent 40-weight motor oil and inner-tube tires and non-halogen headlamps and breaker point ignitions. The past is the past; celebrate it, raise a toast to it, pay tribute to it, but let it rest in peace. Also, Accel's stuff has skidded very badly in quality over the last 10 years or so. Get good spiral-core wires. Excellent-quality ready-made wires for the Slant-6 can be had from www.magnecor.com or http://www.auroraignitionwires.com/ . |

Haha! I guess you're right. Is it ok if I still listen to my classic rock from the 70's and 80's? Thanks for the links and I appreciate your help and advice! All of you guys! |

I installed a new HEI module and now she's running again with the "new" system. However, she's stumbling under acceleration now. Started a new topic http://www.slantsix.org/forum/viewtopic ... 233#425233 Thought it might have been the old Mopar ignition system, it has known wiring issues. Started this behavior this morning half way to work. No improvement with HEI ignition module. Please see my other thread and offer advice if you can. Thanks! |

Then again they have the coil and ignition systems quite far apart. This is my first Dodge and I'll admit to having to re-learn a lot of things. |

Sorry guys. I guess I don't have the hang of this forum yet. I swear I didn't intend to make that last post. |

Turned out to be the plug wires. Installed my new Aurora wires and took her out for a run. She ran like a champ from standing start to WOT on the highway with no hesitation or stuttering at all. The Aurora wires were very well made seated perfectly on both the plug and cap with a nice click so you know they're in. Thanks to all for the help and advice! |
