A low oil pressure cutoff switch is cheap insurance and would be ( Is on mine) on every vehicle I own.

to close this out, below are photos of the pan with baffle and how it interacts with the windage tray.

I used clay to check the clearances, then set the tray in the pan on the clay stools.

The tray sets about a quarter inch above the bottom of the pan. The center two tray vents blow directly into the sump.
The next two vents going outboard blow on to the baffle, I am thinking about cutting a slot in to the baffle in line with the tray
vent to give the oil a direct path back to the sump. The two outboard tray vents blow directly on to the pan, I opened those two vents
to make more room for the oil to flow under the tray.

The pick up is .120 short of the bottom of the pan, and this is without a gasket. I'll weld washers to the bottom of the pick up to take out the
clearance.
