Well, I have commited myself,(maybe I should be commited). I sent money off to Bigblockdart.com for upper control arms, and solid, adjustable front struts. I also orderd a pair of .890 torsion bars. I know this is a lot of noise from a guy who hasn't said much lately, but the hanling section of slantsix.org is very thought provoking, and sort of cutting new ground in many ways. I am really hoping Donna,(my slant's name) comes out of this carving corners like a sports car. Thanks again for the help. I coudn't have made up my mind without your help. I'll keep you posted as I get the stuff installed.

Put a cop box or a firm feel type steering gear in, or all that high tech handling stuff is gonna be lost in your mush-a-matic stock gear (It is a stock one you have, yes?).

Dennis, I might eventaully do that. It will be interesting to see how it feels with a stock box,(I assume it is), and good front end parts. I might even go manual steering, although I am going for a high caster number here, and manual steering can feel pretty tough with 6* caster. We will see. The long range plan is for a turbo, and I certainly want to get the steering thing settled before I get turbo plumbing in.

Two things I'd suggest looking at:
1) Make really sure the steering box is still torqued properly to the K member. Also make sure the steering box bracket is still firmly attached to the K member.
2) Some times I've found that when you stiffen the rear springs it tends to make the car want to oversteer, which is exacerbated by weak frt torsion bars.

AHAH! Bud - great idea on the rear spring stiffening. I had forgotten about this on Vader's car. This is a likely candidate, since I know Vader did stiffen his rear springs and uses stock T-bars.

I bet the 0.890" T-bars will help.

Good tips on both accounts. Putting a wrench on the stearing box bolts should be easy. The bolts are those silly bolts with a reduced head size, so gettin them torqued tight is difficult. Thanks again.

Don't forget LocTite. My box came loose on my '66 Cuda and broke the Kmember attaching bracket. I had to weld the begeezus out of it to beef it up.
