It is a rare person on a Mopar board that can recognize Fikse rims. You must have a Porsche or two stashed away in your garage.

Andyf,

Nope... no Porsche in this garage, just a little basket case valiant trying to play with the big boys (one day!)... I just try to keep up to date on all things good in the automotive world (and also read a few other magazines in addition to the regular Mopar ones). I would like to know more about that '65 Coronet though. It looks awesome. I bet it drives even better.

I have run Weld Wheels on the street for many years. I have 15X3 Draglites and Weld Stars that have been on the front of either my Valiant or Duster and have never even dinged a wheel.

You kill wheels when you go to tires with a very short sidewall.

Overdrive,

Pick up the July issue of Popular Hot Rodding (should be out in a couple of weeks) and you'll see another shot of two of my Coronet in there.

It isn't really that good looking of a car, paint is original and very faded. Front brakes are off of a Viper which is why I had to put 17 inch rims on it. It isn't a /6 car so I don't talk about it much on this board. It runs a 470 low deck stroker with a Doug Nash 5 speed tranny. Car doesn't get driven much, mostly just hangs out on the chassis dyno and tests parts!

Like Brett I am running 16's on my duster. I have found that as a general rule if you don't go lower than a 50 series tire you have adequate protection for alloy rims.
Reducing rotating mass BTW is a very good thing performance wise
