For winter in Toronto you need special tires, sand, salt, shovels, rustproofing, twelve layers of clothing, a whole hell of a lot of whatever you burn to heat your home…shall I go on?".
YES.

Get it all out Dan; exorcize the beast.

I’ll prime the pump: crappy winter street parking conditions; removing snow from roof; icicle control; unscheduled heating equipment service; ice storms; power outages; below zero wind shield scraping --- now you run with it.

OK… OK…

Now take a cleansing breath; breathe in deeply and slowly through nose, hold it, hold it, hold it--- Now slowly exhale through mouth.

Better now?

You’ll feel even better once unpacked, and can find your bumbershoot.

LOL

Bill

Ah, Vancouver... Where you can drive your classic slanted vehicle year round, as long as it keeps water out, & has good wipers. The lack of intermittent wipers can be a tad annoying, that's about it. Dan, what area of Van did you move to?

An undersatisfactory, overpriced, stanky basement apartment pending real housing.

Yeah, but I only said it's stanky 'cause it's stanky.

I've got a brand newish 1 bedroom Condo on the Surrey/North Delta Border you could rent. It's fully furnished and has a 50" Plasma tv in it. On the top (4th) floor.

Well, it was rented for 5 months by a single woman, so it was barely lived in.

I'd agree with you in a hot second, Sandy, but it has to be in Vancouver, otherwise no foot traffic to Bill for photo shoots (see "galleries"). And he doesn't drive, so out in the 'burbs wouldn't work.

I just(!) flew back from Germany. Day after tomorrow we sign the lease on a purty nice place at Howe and Davie.

Jester, thanks for the offer!

seems to be the case with most vancouver accomodations, at least the overpriced part:)

on a note related to the beginning of this thread, when peering down into the carb and turning the throttle, seems that when turning quickly i see a solid shot of fuel, when turning slowly, the fule seems to dribble out.
is this what you refer to earlier dan? accelerator pump working crappy?

Well, how slowly is "slowly"? The shot will be strongest when you open the throttle quickly. It will be less vigourous when you open it slowly. If you want to check for sure, remove the link that connects the throttle lever to the accelerator pump lever, then push the rear of the accelerator pump lever down and then let go of it as you watch the stream. It should be strong and solid. If it's weak, you will want to go through the carb and perhaps stretch the accelerator pump spring slightly for stronger pump action -- keep in mind it is the spring, not the throttle opening itself, that pushes the plunger.

Doh! I supersixed a perfectly good 1920 for the dead spot issue. I bet stretching the accelerator pump spring would have solved my problem :D

Dan, the place is there if you need it, with a slanters discount. Going to advertise it on the weekend. A short bus ride to Scott Road station skytrain.
