OIL PUMP IN A SLANT HUH ?

I HAVE A '72 VALIANT (My Graduation Present).

I crank 50 psi , my gear fatigues in 5 years,

and this procedure works for My 'K'.

--Jackstand front to access.

--Float Psgr Motor Mount. Jack engine to clear Pmp.

--Remove Pmp Mount bolts. Catch oil. Pull Pmp Out.

--Open gear plate/inspect/replace gear.

'Washer' Pressure Spring to 50 PSI. Moly & close.

--Reinstall Pmp with 3 gaskets.

--Drop Machine to ground.

--Change Out Idiot Light for 0-50 pressure gauge.

--USE FUEL INJECTION PRESSURE HOSE.

for an OIL PRESSURE GAUGE? HUH? No way.... most that I have put in take 1/8" tubing. Most come with plastic tubing. and are fastened with compression fittings. Throw away the plastic tube, go to hardware store and buy some 1/8" copper tube, substitute for plastic tube.
and add a "tee" at oil pressure port on engine, keep that original idiot light AND add the gauge as well.....
