With the vin showing 318 it means that it was not an original Formula S. Sorry should have made that clearer in the first post. Did the mesh portion of the front grills look like they had been sprayed black instead of the normal silver?
Do you have a photo of the fender tag?

Tom

No, the grill looked to be silver. The fender tag was rusted badly. I couldn't clean it with a rag well enough to even read it. I guess someone replaced the rear panel, from all indications.

At least the tail panel would be worth something.
:D

boom,
I haven't discounted that one entirely. My initial interest was with the Barracuda. If it doesn't seem to pan out like I hope, I might talk turkey with the gentleman about the Dart 440 in picture #1. It is fairly complete.
It is missing one of the left taillights. All the chrome seems to be there.
The grill is in good shape. Even the interior is not that bad, as best I can tell by looking through the windows. There is a lot of crap stored inside this car, so I couldn't see all the seats, etc.

I'll let you know,
Jerry

Why isnt anybody going berserk over the first car?

Jerry, just PLEASE tell me youll go back and buy every one, and take a second mortgage out on your house to restore them all?

I'll cosign?

I would love that 1962 Dodge Dart 440 sedan! It probably is either a slant six or 318. Have always liked the 1962 Dart, even if it has a weird front end.

The 1966 Valiant is not a Signet as it is a 4-door sedan. The Signet prior to 1967 came as a hardtop or convertible. So this one is either a 100 or 200 series.
