Well After the Elk Creek Race I Camped out at Lou's Place Then Drove the rest of the way home Sunday Morning..

While at Lou's, I got a chance to Re- Weigh Ruster Post Diet and (DRUM ROLL PLEASE)

Here are the results..

I had Calculated each and every bit of Crap I cut off ruster to be 327.5 # Lighter than Last Year So Last year the car was 2575# - 327=2248#

Some times I did not weigh some of the stuff I added :-( Like Air inkake, Grille covers etc....

So.. After the Biggest loser Challenge Slant six Version the Final Weigh in was: 2268#

And With 222#'s of Driver and All racing Gear: 2490#
Image

So actual Weight Saving was 307#, 20 # off of my Calculations.

Also Stopped at this Old Steam Shovel 40 Miles south of The 'Burgh for some Fun shots with Rusty Valiant, Rusty Truck, and Rusty/ Graffiti Steam Shovel :-)

I also ran An 8.15 Eighth Mile at elk Creek which was really fast for ruster especially at 1000' + Higher altitude than normal... Any previous best 1/8 was 8.23 I heard some Rumors that the track was 60' Short of an 1/8 Mile which would make sense for the 8.15 at an altitude track??

Greg, I was at A & A trans earlier this week chasing down a part for Rob. Rick was building a light weight 904. Billet aluminum drums for a weight savings of 13 pounds! I thought of you and Mark right off. But those 13 pounds didn't come cheaply! All the best,W.

Billet aluminum drum is in the neighborhood of $600 plus installation. Then you factor in the increased maintenance because the front band eats the face of the drum....................

Then you can rollerize the trans while you're in there and altogether you will drop about a tenth of ET for only $1000 or so. :D

Yea ,I definately spun on every pass in Eureka.I cooked the tires more than normal there and went down to 8lbs and still spun, car was a little wiggley over a 100mph.Think at Sacremento with the added weight I will run 12lbs in the rear tires.I normally run 10 at lower weight.Guzzi Mark

Sounds like fun. Mark, you'll have to switch to Alky next and set all those records too...

I am getting the cutting bug too. Chopped about 6 lbs out of Project V last night, and eyeing more dead wt...
