I'm going on faith, but that being said, its not like there is a shortage of available blocks around here if the first is not deemed fit ;)

The machine shop I use in Fallon, Nevada has a sonic checking tool. I have been having all the big v8 race motors checked before machining. I have 3 or 4 blocks to chose from for my first SL6, I'll have them all checked and know where I stand with each one.

I'll tell you what my eyes about popped out when I seen Stonethk say that some guys are going .140 and Bren went .180 over. I'm taking all my blocks over to the sonic machine, the guy is fairly reasonable.

I just love the smell of Horse Power in the morning

Jim

Hey Rob, any word on an order here? Not that I am dying to spend cash, just thought I'd check in ;)

I just got an email back from Brian. Good news and bad news...
Quote:
Ok Rob, I’ve put the paperwork in to update to the new forging and to add the 88.5 and 89 bore sizes. They will be called pt112h84 and pt112h104, but racers won’t be able to place orders on those until they end up in our sales system (one of the final steps). This request has gone through management and it now goes through the hands of engineering, manufacturing, and marketing. I think we’re looking at about 3 months before the first sets hit the shelf. The gram weights will drop a lot. The 3.504 bore customs were 393 gram (versus 423 grams for the 3.825 bore parts). When the new h25 and h45 sizes come out, I expect them to be down at the 375g range pretty easily.

Feel free to pass this along!

Thanks, Brian Nutter
So, the good news is that the new pistons are a go and will be even lighter than the first forgings... 3 months wait is the bad news.

Hopefully Gary has my set by now and can bring them to one of the upcoming races so people can get their hands on them.

Sorry for the 3 month timeframe guys. :( I thought it would be a quicker turn around time.

It does give the guys with the .045s a little longer to sell them. :D

If I get any updates from Brian on these pistons being available sooner I will definitely post it.

I'm in no hurry. Great news about the weights and that they will be available!

That's completely fine by me, as long as they are a go, I can prep the rest of the block and get things done in anticipation. I'm still in.

You haven't missed the boat at all. It hasn't even sailed yet. :D This isn't a one time group buy. Wiseco is making a run of these pistons to put on the shelf so that you can order them any time.
Thanks! thats what i needed to know :D

Here is the latest reply from Brian regarding the custom 3.504" (89mm) pistons if you don't want to wait for three months. I am waiting on a price from Brian, but if you use the part number mentioned when you call the 1-800 number they should have the price.

I also edited the price on the K1 rods. I had copy/pasted it from the original thread and it was outdated. Thanks stonethk for pointing that out to me.

Good deal. Feel free to hand out the aw-01592 custom part number to the guys that want 89mm parts now. With 2 week turn around on duplicate orders, it will get some of the people to the track quicker-even though they’re a bit more expensive.

Our parts and technology continuously evolve, so think about this email when you see some of the changes that occur in 2010 

Just wanted to let people know that I can be counted on as 1 of the five for a 3.504 set.
So, 4 more people and we get a price cut if I am understanding things correctly.

My block is so lonely just sitting there all cold, freshly prepped smooth spots like a twinkle in its eyes, all primered up, it's ok honey soon you will live..oh hey yeah where was I.. so any definite yesses?
