So probably great for this type of weight removal etc, but not quite precise enough for engine blueprinting type stuff (?).

Thanks!

What are you talking about? .5g is .001 Pounds.

I think that's plenty precise for engine stuff..

I weighed my pistons / rods / pins etc. on it.

:D

Post subject:  2-1-12 Converter Swappin'

I dropped the trans for the converter swap.

I am also putting in some New Synthetic fluid, A new filter - Re adjusted the bands, Swapped converters and flexplates.

While the Trans is out I will be scraping the floorboards of any more Rust proofing.. Probably got 5 # more in the trans tunnel alone.

Pics:

Black converter out - Green Converter in.

Flexplate comparision - Both of these Started out as LA-904 TCI Flexplates.. I redrilled the One Crank hole on both and one of them is modded to accept the stock type 5/16" converter Bolts... THe other is for the larger racing style 7/16" converter Bolts.

Green converter in fo a test fit.. I have to make sure the welds on the lugs fit correctly before final welding.

I guess we were working on trannys in parallel last night, Greg. Got the new Midwest converter and the trans back in and running in the '68. Too easy to spin tires in the garage... Rainy so didn't get to test real stall yet.

Post subject:  Trans In / Pan Evac Complete 2-5-12

After test fitting the trans to make sure the lugs that I tacked on the converter were right after it was in the car I had one lug that was a bit off.. the others were lining up well.

So I made the adjustment and did a full weld on all 4 lugs.

While I had the trans out I was able to remove 2.6# of undercoating and other Junk from the car!

Box Tare is 0.68#

Ruster Should now weigh 2198.1#

I filled it up with some Amsoil Synthetic Trans ATF. (Ryan Peterson Will Be Proud)

looks nice, but shouldn`t the o2 be lower in the exhaust stream? the bung looks a little high holding the sensor up in the bung.

Good Observation..

With this sensor it says to use that high bung with leaded race gas.. It is mostly Shielded from the lead deposits which will damage the sensor.
