Hi Mike, im up at the top end of Georgia on I-75 about 6 miles before you get to the Tennessee line. Parts testing would be great, im sure there will be plenty of items to go around to those that are ready to bolt them on and try them out. A timing cover is definately planned, and I will look at the water pump conversion also. Thanks for any help you can provide with input and/or testing.

If you are looking purely for a money-making proposition, you might want to consider something like the aluminum Thrush muffler tips sold in the 60s and 70s. Those go for hundreds of dollars whenever they pop up on eBay. Universal appeal and lots of potential buyers. Reproducing nostalgia items no longer available today would be a good way to make some money to support your slant habit!

There are plenty of posts on how to make this conversion, especially if you have a manual tranny.



Is one way to do it, and the acc. cable is long enough and works both on shorty and long ram manifolds (and you can use the $12 throttle cable bracket found in the performance section at autozone if not into fabricating your own brackets- did this with an offy manifold in my other duster, so should work fine with the 2300 on a super six).

I have a list of Stovebolt stuff I already make as well as some new goodies to try out also. I like the 2bbl intake for the 2300 carbs with no adapters as well.

Fellow by the handle of PISHTA in the /6 forum on FABO just posted about drilling a head for F.I. bungs. I'm no machinist, but it looks kinda iffy, but a great idea!

Im only 16, so I don't have the real world experience of the others, but how about an aluminum block with siamese bores? This would help with the extreme oversquareness... also provisions for more stroke, and the ability to accommodate the stock internals (exc for pistons would have to be bigger due to larger bore. Just some ideas to add to the pot

- Two piece timing cover
- Two piece timing Cover with belt drive gears with cam adjustment)
- Option for front-mounted distributor

- Driver-side Alternator mount (like in the early A-100 with Slants)

- Aluminum pulleys: Crank (single, double and triple), water pump, alternator

- Water neck

- a Two piece TALL valve cover plenty of room to use large valves and large springs
- Intakes: I can think of many options here!!!!
-Triple-Downdraught Webers (IDA or IDF) with injector booses so you can use the Weber-type injector bodies instead of carbs
- Mod-Man Intake: with large plenum that you can change to top of it and go from 2bbl to 4bbl, from Holley to Weber IDF, IDA
- Triple side draugth Webers (Clifford already make one)

- Cast Rockers in 1,5 1,6 ratios

I'm trying to tink away of what has already been done and its ready available.

And of course .... and Slant Six Aluminum head!!!!!!!!!!!! but with all the goodies in!!!!!!!!! LOL

I think the D/S alternator is the single nicest improvement that I made to my car. Race or street it just makes the passenger side a much more pleasurable place to work!

I have always wanted to move the alternator to the Driver side an down. It gives the engine bay a much cleaner look and you get a perfect access to all the spark plugs and maybe move th coil to were the alternator original place. That is just perfect for me, specially to work on the passenger side!!!!

Just mount the coil bracket to the passenger side fender and get it away from the heat of the engine block, it will last longer (my family's been doing that mod for 40 years now,,,LOL).
