Hopefully you have an O2 sensor on board now? If not Your still guessing at your mixture no matter what carbs you have on it. I hate to see you go to all the work of swapping the Webers since I know how well they work, but if ain't performing you may have to. Keep at it! :D :D

I suppose this is all part of the teething process in sorting a car.

Ruster Ran 19.20 the first time out. Then after an engine build, it was solidly into the 13's, then the 12's then the 11's.. Simplify then add lightness. :D

I still have all kinds of problems with the megasquirt on the ignition, but when it works it works well, and I have only myself to blame.

Keep focused, you'll get there. I would also throw that other intake on and see if there is and induction problem or not.

Greg
That first engine build sounds like it was a serious engine.

It's hard for me to add lightness to my Colt. About the only thing I can do is go on a diet.

Oh not you zilla, I was talking about other folks.
I was talking to Patrick Saturday. That motor always used water and snotted up under the valve cover really bad. I never got any water in the pan. It's possible the head was already cracked anyway.

We're going to try and fix it ourselves. What have we got to lose?

No O2 sensor.
I was reading that they need a certain length of pipe to function correctly.
My fitting, in one collector only, only has maybe 5 inches of pipe to the atmosphere.
I am not going to change carbs till I get the trans/bearing issue resolved and get some good runs done.

Mine is only in one header as well and I have about 12" of pipe downstream. You could always hook up a temporary extension on your collector until you get it close.

5" is plenty long.

I have less than that on the O2 to the end of the turndown on ruster.

It's not accurate at say Idle but above 2000 it's trusty as a subaru justy! :D

Ok, maybe on the O2.

Took the Colt apart today.
Maybe .010 clearance on the bearing.
They call for .100 minimum.

So out comes the trans.
I need some velcro.

I've got a 904 with a brake and a 4000 stall you can stick in there.

Won't fit.
The block plate attaches to the mid mount.
But thanks for offering!

Trans is out.
Makes a couple of weird sounds as you rotate it from the front.
More to investigate.
Bled the master cylinder on the clutch.
Seems to be working properly.
And I do have the clearance that I had when I set up the bearing the first time.
Around .125, they say .150 is optimum.
Master cylinder was keeping it from pushing back with my hand.
Learning a lot about what isn't the problem.

Clutch pedal was sticking and air in the lines.
Trans was on inside.
I put it back together and ran it in the driveway.
Here is the Video:

Is that trans clutchless Stan?

You got any more chances to test this year?
