Post subject:  Hood cut 9-22-13

Well I had to Cut the hood, To Make room for the 2" HVH/Quick fuel Spacer that I want to try.

Still no testing yet with these spacers.. Weather has been sunny and dry except when there is a Time to go to the track when I am off work :-( Then it's raining :0

Here are some shots of the Hood mods.. Not pretty But functional for now.

I marked the hood where it needed cut.

I drilled out a 1/2" hole and then used a jigsaw to cut the Fiberglass.

What's light and thin and somewhat workable that I can use to make a hood bump?

A used Purple Power 2 gal container of course!

I will post up some pics of the finished bump when I get the car out from under the tarp.

Greg, I believe Moon sells a speed bump just for such an application, it has a areodynamic shape to it as well. Made from body metal.

I hope it picks up with the spacer, good luck.

Just mount a mailbox on the hood. You can run a choke cable to it to open the door like a "ram air" scoop.

A scoop like Rodney Hargis has on the Lancer turned backwards would look nice.
