Quote="superdve"]Nice build Aaron! How's the car running? I'm in Clawson and have been working on my Scrapyard Scamp getting bugs worked out for Car Craft Nats. Love the Slant turbos, drop me a note if you need Megasquirt help. - Dave[/quote] Thanks alot Dave I've been following your SY scamp for the last year and on fabo you guys do some great work. The build is in the final stages I actually pulled all the Megasquirt out of the car and bought a msd6530 but haven't installed it yet. This was taking two weeks ago https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2wjdTXA ... ata_player |

So cool I can't stand it Aaron! I can never seem to get my cars to idle like this! Is your plan to eventually run Megasquirt for ignition only or are you going to EFI? I DO like EFI with turbos but it's not 100% required as we all know. Since you have the A1000 stuff it's not super hard to inject the car after that. |

I plan on trying to run blow thru but was going to control ignition with. The Megasquirt but after I installed it I found that trying to use HEI ignition with a mopar dizzy and Megasquirt is difficult. You have to run some sort of VR CONDITIONING CIRCUITRY. And this fifty yearold eelectric system they didn't mix well also. Aaron |

What do you think about either a duraspark or asian car 6 cylinder module on the VR pickup Aaron?

Well I pulled the trigger earlier in the week and put some plates and insurance on the TT and have been driving around town when the weather permits but like most of the mid west here in mich its been abnormally hot and humid. I've been pleased so far with how the car is acting and driving I've been taking things slow and not trying to push thing and im only running 7psi at this time but the car pulls hard and drives straight. Stay tuned Aaron |

Ok all I made it down to Onondaga today and I was able to make three passes but only the second one was a clean run. The first one the motor wasn't loaded up and when the tree turned green the toad tipped over and I double pumped the throttle and got through the run after that but didn't get the time slip. On the second pass I flashed the convertor and left at about 3000 rpm and run a 9.508, 74.91 mph,.616 reaction time on 7psi of boost Thrid pass cranked the boost up to 12psi and drove through the light but tried to heat the tires up. On the first two runs I drove through the water box. All in all I had a blast and the people were awesome there was alot of nice cars and the turbo slant got alot of attention I posted a video of the second pass on utube and will post a link tomorrow after it goes public Aaron |

That's awesome! No reason it can't gain @ 24 mph, and then some, up through the 1/4 mile. Looks like you have a solid 13 second car now on 7 psi. Keep sorting it out it will only get faster/quicker My turbo slant 6 project is on the back burner but thanks for sharing your experience! |

You beat us to the strip by a few weeks with your alky-toadThe first one the motor wasn't loaded up and when the tree turned green the toad tipped over and I double pumped the throttle and got through the run after that but didn't get the time slip. According to the Wallace Calculater, those tomes equate to a 14.80/93mph quarter-mile times... fantastic for only 7 pounds of boost!!!! Those times are very close to a stock, 1968 383 RoadRunner would turn. Musclecar times... at only 7 pounds of boost!!! I can't wait to see what this little jewel is going to do when you turn the wick up... LOL! Keep us informed, PLEASE!!! That's very impressive for a first-time out with a new car! |

Pretty close to what my 68 Dart runs on 6.5 psi boost. You can do better, since your car is lighter (prolly by a lot). Maybe you have a stall converter too? What was 60 ft? More tuning should get you down to 9.0s or better with that boost. Congrats! Lou |

Thanks lou Congrats! Lou Yes I have a 3200 stall, but earlier in the week my break lite switch went bad on me and that's what I use for setting my launch control inputs on the msd, and my boost controller. I think once I have that ironed out it should make a big difference. Sorry they didn't have any 60ft times they were lucky to even have a tree it was supposed to be done off arm drop but I was very happy to see they had a pro tree. I'm hoping to get some more runs in next weekend I have a four day weekend and plan on going racing again atleast one of them. As far as weight goes I haven't had the opportunity to put the valiant on the scale but I'd say it shouldn't weight anymore then 2500 give or take fifty pounds Aaron |
