getting an B&M star shifter, in the instructions, its said to lock the locking mech in the engine compartment, so that you can get the key in and out in the lock position. How is this done? I mean where is this done? I have a service manual and cant seem to find where to do this....thanks |

I assume you are converting a column shift car to floor shift, right? On a Mopar there is no locking mechanism other than securing the column shift into Park. I did the one im my Duster by taping the steering column so the shift tube wouldn't move after I took out the shifter handle. |

If you lock it into park, you won't be able to turn the wheel.(If it has the ignition switch on the column) |

Only when you shut the key off. |
