Never pulled a slant before, but I do have lots of experience with V8's. Where do you attach the engine hoist when pulled engine and trans at the same time?

there are two 3/8 sae bolt holes between valvecover and manifolds... i use a short chain between the two

I use a heavy nylon strap (read 'old dog leash') :o

I tie one end to the #6 exhaust runner, and pull tight attaching the other end to the #2 exhaust runner. This balances the engine and transmission perfectly and allowed me to pull by myself, one hand tilting the motor the other working the hoist. Only works if you have the manifolds attached. I should have shot a pic, It was beautiful :cry:

If the head has 3 lifting holes (like later heads), use the middle and rear hole for the short chain and lift from the middle of that chain. Should balance about the same as my first suggestion.
