Seeking advice regarding a carb for my 225 Charger. It has a Clifford intake and headers, the rest is stock. Please recommend carb types that provide the best performance for everyday driving with a little giddieup. Thanks.

A Clifford is going to toss off enough low end, you need all the response you can get out of the smaller carb. :)

With no other changes, I'd say a Carter BBD 2 barrel. If you decide to go to a 4 barrel, I recommend a small Carter (Edelbrock) AFB.

You have a very rare car on your hands. Not everyday you see one of those with a slant.

Some cars had air cleaners with '225 Charger" on them. Is that what you mean by 68 225 Charger....or do you really have a 68 B Body with a slant?

Thanks for the responses so far.
For the question about the car type, it is a 1968 Dodge Charger with a 225. In fact my dad bought it brand new in 1968 and has had it all this time. Not sure why he chose the slant six instead of a V8 (economony?) but he gave it to me three years ago and I started putting some money into it with the Clifford parts but I haven't yet purchased a Carb for it. ( Lack of funds).
Any feedback on a Weber Carb? Any recommendations?

I'd go down to the junkyard and find a super six setup off of a 78 Volare and then get the 2bbl off of a 318 car, not the lean burn model. rebuild the carb, install it and fine tune it. Adjuesting the valves would help as said earlier on this post. 3

What kinda gears does the Charger have? Maybe a 2.76/2.94 7 1/4"

replace the plugs, wires, cap, rotor, and the points. Might even look into upgrading to electronic ignition. I did all this when I first got my slant a couple years ago, I hated adjusting the points.

The rest will all fall into place soon enough. It takes more time than money at this stage cuz you are leaning about the slant, once you harness its energy, then it will suck the money from the bank account. But you will love it, we all love it.

Pete
