slant and big/small block dists ain't swap. if you wanna get best mpg you have to stick with high initial timing. Maybe your vac pod is too large for a manual tranny (especially being OD) try to use a smaller ratio vac pod. |

Standard/Bluestreak vacuum advance for the '76 Dart Lite/Feather Duster economy models with \6 and 4spd is VC208. Has a really LONNNNNNNNG throw, which is what you're asking for. |

No, you didn't get it wrong. The long-throw vacuum advance allows a large amount of advance under mileage-making part-throttle conditions despite a moderate (say 3° to 5° BTDC) initial timing setting, for easy starting and ping prevention under acceleration. |
