I have tried using the parts database and came up empty. I am looking foir a new set of bolts to hold the head to the block, and a new set for the exhaust/manifold (I am using clifford). anyone know a good place to get new ones? incedentally, I used to be able to find rod bolt information on the database, I beleive it was written by mr. dutra. I think the article is there but the information isn't in the database (see page http://slantsix.org/articles/ARP-studs/sl6-hardware.htm). seems odd to me. anyway when saying that "Head Studs : 142 - 4001" does this refer to bolting the head to the block or the manifold to the head? |

I remember seeing on a website it had Dorman part listing for various hardware and it showed head bolts. Try a google search for Dorman. |

napaonline.com, 7/16-14 x 4 3/8" $1.69 Hrumm, 1.69 seems cheap for a bolt that large ..... |

I'd be willing to bet the Napa bolts mentioned are standard-duty bolts and are NOT intended for use as head bolts. Roger |

They were specifically labeld as head bolts ... I'm not sure what to say thats just what came up when I did a search by application for a 1985 truck. For the life of me I can't remember where I bought my last set a few years ago. Hmm, would a shoulderd grade 8 bolt work or is there something special about headbolts? |

I was lookin the other day... O'Reilly has them for something in that same ballpark... I'm wantin to say it was a dorman part. It's not that unreasonable; the fel-pro torque-to-yield items for newer engines (like the 3.8 GM's) bring around $20 a set. If someone needs the dorman # I could find it. |

Ok, looked up head bolts on a 75 dart. Came up w/ Dorman #675-121. According to the book they are 7/16-14X4.375" with a 1-1/8" threaded portion. Head size is 11/16" and they are not torque to yield. Walk-in price is $1.49 each, but the were not easy to get a hold of; only one of our (O'Reilly's) warehouses had them, and they only had one box (of 10). As for manifold attaching bolts, Dorman 675-094 is great, just about an inch longer. They're not hard to get a hold of at all. |
