I have done alot of auto building. I have never tackled a transmission rebuild. Just from hear say the 904 is not that hard to rebuild.
Is this true or false?

True!

I "rebuilt" my first 904 8 years ago, without a manual, or anything, and that tranny is still used every day by the guy that bought the car it was in.

I have done a few of them later, WITH a manual, and they are very easy to work on

Go do it!
