Since I haven't found online how to decode my VIN, I'm writing it down for anyone who might need it in the future.

From Service manual #WM4671

Serial numbers
A new eleven digit serial number supplies all pertinent vehicule information as follow:

First digit -Indicates car makes, model and wheelbase, using the follwing letters:

V...Valiant...short wheelbase W...Dodge...short wheelbase
L...Valiant...long wheelbase D...Dodge...long wheelbase
R...Plymouth...short wheelbase C...Chrysler
P...Plymouth...long wheelbase Y...Imperial

Second digit - Indicates the vehicule price range and number of cylinders, using the following numerals:

1...Low...6 6...Low...8
2...Medium...6 7... Medium...8
3...High...6 8...High...8
4...Premium...6 9...Premium...8

Third digit - Indicates the body style using the following letters:

A...2 dr. Sedan F...4 dr. 2 seat Sub.
B...2 dr,. Hardtop G...4 dr. 3 seat Sub.
C...4 dr. Sedan H...4 dr. H.T. 2 seat Sub.
D...4 dr. Hardtop J... 4 dr. H.T. 3 seat Sub.
E...Convertible S...Special

Fourth digit - Indicates the model series using the following numerals:

2...1962 4...1964
3...1963 5...1965

Fifth digit - Indicates the assemble plant, using the following numerals:

1...Plymouth 4...Imperial
2...Dodge 9...Canada
3...Jefferson

Sixth digit through eleventh digit - Indicates the numerical portion of the serial number beginning with number 100,001 and running consecutively regardless of make or model:

Example:

R 3 B 5 9 100147
Plymouth High line 2 door "A" Canada 147th unit
Short 6 cyl Hardtop Series Built

The above numbering system requires that complete and accurate serial number information be supplied when reffering to a specific car model.

In the example, I think the #5 should mean 1965... but anyway that's some good info...
