I was looking over Doug's Article http://www.slantsix.org/articles/stroking/stroking.htm
and I was wondering if anybody has looked at 2.0 or 2.4 liter pistons for a slant?

Check this out http://importperformanceparts.net/impor ... ysler.html

I don't know what the pin diameter needs to be, or the compression height of the pistons. However, it may be close. Whatta ya think?

The Mopar 2.0 or 2.4 use a shorter compression height (around 1.42"?) than the 2.2 pistons (around 1.59"). Look at an online piston catalog like Keith Black or Silvolite for dimensions. With a stroked crank and/or decked block, you could use those pistons.

Maybe Rayman will pop in here, but he is using 2.4 pistons on custom 7.12" rods in his motor. Comp is relatively low though.

I wonder if there are other metric pistons that might be a better fit. Any other ideas?

The problem is that even with longer (198) rods, the motor was designed for old fashioned pistons, with a taller compression height. I don't think that many modern motors would use pistons like that anymore, due to the weight and pollution problems with rings that sit lower on the piston.

thanks,

Greg

Yes. I am using those pistons ( Wiseco Forgings ) but they were perfectly suited to my application as I wanted a lower than std C/R. My combo used a 7.120' long rod and the 2.4 piston ( Comp Height 1.4' ) @ 7.88:1 CR .....
