Was wondering if Napa suspension parts, specificly tie rod ends, where any good? I recently replaced the lower ball joints (Moog, of course), and found my tie rods are kinda sloppy as well (the stud on both outers spun when removing and replacing the nut and I can twist the sleeve around as well). I heard they have their own brand, but don't know who makes them. If McQuay-Norris, forget it. Haven't heard many good things about them. Gonna do it this weekend and have it aligned Monday.

The parts manager at my local NAPA store told me that their chassis parts are made by Dana, but I have no way to independently confirm that. I've used them in the past and have had no trouble.

The stud is supposed to twist - thats normal for all ball style joints - if it didn't twist, then you'd have problems. Unles its jiggling and wiggling excessively (especially up and down) then it shouldn't be a problem. I've had brand new parts do that.

If the sleeves are twisting the clamps on the end may be loose.

None the less if you want to replace, why not just use moog tie rod stuff as well? When I replaced my tierods moog was still making them and quick look at rockauto.com shows them listed as well.

I had purchased some lower control arms for a 1975 Comet from Napa. They were made in China junk. The ball joints were welded in not riveted and there is supposed to be a reinforcing plate where the strut rods bolts on...it wasn't even there. I didn't put these control arms on my car I purchased some from Moog they were built correctly and even the moog arms were made from thicker metal just like the originals arms. one last item the rubber in the bushings from Napa was already detorating, they were cracked and looked almost like they were used. Chinese parts+Napa= Crapa
If I was forced to purchase from Napa I would carefully inspect Napa parts before forking over your hard earned money It seams like Napa has gone down hill.
