I am tying up the last of the odds and ends before the first attempt to
start my 170 - I want to see it run am I wondering if I need to re jet
the Holley carb before I try to start it up. The Holley is the 390 cfm
8007 - I believe it comes with 51 jets. This motor has a clifford M260
cam (which is almost a stock grind) and a HyperPak manifold.

I know I will want to change the jetting, accelerator pump cam, and
power valve later - but will the out of the box setup on the 8007 get
me through the motor start up and cam break in ( 20 min at 2000 rpm
plus)

51's seem to be OK just drove my out of the box 8007 today above the 2000 rpm level (you might have problems with the idle settings and the transition circuit).

good luck,

The 8007 worked fine for my 170 HyperPak out of the box.
