I was wondering if I can get a few opinions here.... I am considering building a wild street/strip slant for fun. First, what works and what doesn't? What cam should I use? What valves? What intake and carb? And second....What am I looking at as far as price? Again, I am willing to go the extra mile to have a bad-ass slant that is to be feared....Thanks Everyone!

Any time you start a project you want to have a goal. You can not have a great street car and a great drag car all in one. Do i want a good street car and drag car that is possible but you can not have both if you want to win drag races regular. Unless you want to put nitrios to it run a turbo or supercharge it. How fast do you want to go and how much money do you want to spend . Thanks Ron Parker :D :D

If you read the "Back From Nebraska" post about 4 threads down from yours, you will see what Ron is talking about. Slantzilla had a fast street car on nitrous (12.02), but it was not a dedicated drag car.
Ron is trying to win races with a drag only car (I think that will be supercharged). It does cost some money to make a slant fast because
the cubic inches are not there like a 440 for example. But if you spend the
bucks, you'll have a very unique attention getting car.
There are many posts on this site about what you can do.
Like Ron says, get a goal, and then ask alot of questions.

Turbo or blower.

I am close with nitrous, but I am on the ragged edge.

The motor in my Cuda, was in my 65 Valiant 4 dr sdn, in 1974 and ran a 22.8 in the quarter mile. Last year it turned a 13.16 in a heavier car. Over 31 years it picked up 9.6 seconds. A little at a time.

The new motor has more race oriented porting, but the hard parts would still live on the street.
