| Post subject: | Spark Plugs?????????? |
I see there are alot of fans of NGK, Autolite and Champion. Is there a decided winner for a Slant that is hands-down the best spark plug? I am running a Champion RV12YC. Would I be happier with something else? What would the Manufacturer and number be? bwhitejr |

The bottom line is that it really doesn't make that much difference. I have had "bad" plugs that wouldn't run right of various brands, but never an NGK and I think not Autolite. I use NGK V-power GR-4s (stock or mid comp) or GR-45s or GR-5s (high comp). Lou |

I'd use either the NGK or Autolite extended tip plugs. The Autolites are cheaper, but I think the NGK's last longer and are a slightly better plug. The Autolite is 985, don't know the NGK number....... |

NGK ZFR5N, which does indeed seem to be a longer-lasting, better-designed plug than the Autolite 985. These extended-nose plugs are available only for the up-to-1974 heads that take flat-seat plugs, not the '75-up heads that take taper-seat plugs. |

Both Champion RV12YC and AC Delco R45TS (!!!)works well in later heads. Once on -78 Aspen AC´s were over 45000km (30000 miles) and still like new... even that car was a real oilburner |
