Can't seem to find any real info using the search feature on what size 15 in tire will actually fit in a 65 A Body (Dart wagon). I've got a set of Mirada 10 spoke wheels that I'll be using with the wagon. Original tire size was a 700-13. The closest radial size is a 185-80X13 which size-wise is about equal to a 195-60X15. The 8 in wide rim will take much bigger than that. I want to fill the wheelwells but not look out of place. Any real world experience on what actually does fit?

I to have a wagon and from what I've seen we can't run as wide of a tire as the other guys as we have seats between the wells. Kinda keeps the choices limited. As far as non-wagons go I have seen as wide as 265-50-15's.

A 7.00 13 tire was 25.70" diameter.

Which would be equivalent to a 205 80 13 tire which never existed.......


A 185 80 13 and 205 60 15 are equivalent diameters (24.7") not a 195 60 15.........


You're looking for a

225 60 15
215 65 15 or 205 65 15
195 70 15
185 75 15

tire to get the original diameter.

I also have a Dart Wagon. While we cant go inward we might be able to go a little bit outward because the Wagons do not have the partially covered wheel wells of the sedans and coupes. I have only had this car for a month now, so I have not figured out what tires would work, but that is the first thing I thought when I saw the wheel well as compared to my 65 GT.

Just like to point out there are no 15" sbp rims don't know if yours has already been converted to lbp.

Stockton wheel can supply 15" sbp wheels. This is not an endorsement, I don't know anything about them, but they indicate in their online catalog that they are available.

225/50-15 or 215/60-15 would be a very nice size on that rim.

Lou - are you talking about those size tires on the Mirada 10 spoke? It's currenly got split and cracked 235-60X15s on them and looked really nice on the Mirada I had.

I didn't comment on the price, just that they are indeed available.

I like 225/50-15 on my Darts, although they are not "Big". 235/60s will likley fit too, but offset will have to be pretty close and you might have to do front fender lip tirmming.
