I am working on touching op the engine bay on my dart.

I have the column out and It's all rusty from the sttering coupling to the bottom of the Column where it pokes thru the fire wall.

The question here is What color / finish would a 69 dart have on this area of the column?

I have a 73 cuda that has a perfect column in this area - it's black with some numbers on it.

I am guessing the same black paint for the dart?

Any help is appericated here.

Thanks, Greg

Pretty sure body color is correct, but I could be wrong.

On my 64, the column part that pokes thru the firewall is the interior color.

Then there's a rubber grommet/bushing that the shaft is in, and the shaft goes down to the steering coupler at the steering box. The shaft is rusty, so if that's what you're looking for, I'm in the same boat as you.

Mine ('68 Dart) is rust/appears to have never had paint on it, but I could be wrong. I'll take a better look when I get out tomorrow.

Have got 4 A Bodies and 1 B Body, plus several assorted loose ones. All steering columns are (were) interior color (black, blue, gold, gold, and blue. If you think about it, the factory wouldn't paint the column a different color (or not paint it) where it's seen in the engine compartment as it would cost too much.
