My '72 Duster has a stick-on trim strip that runs the length of the vehicle. I think it looks better with that off. How can I get that thing off, I think it is stuck on there.

As long as it's not riveted anywhere, razor/solvent should work best. Carefully slice thru the adhesive while being careful not to scratch or mar the paint, then work down what's left with the least gnarly solvent that gets the stuff off. I'd try mineral spirits to start.

If it ain't broke, fix it!

Try Goof-off, its a yellow colord cleaning agent you can get from a hardware store that eats up glue gently without harming whats underneath, its citrus based and may take a while to work. Use it on a small spot to judge wether it will harm paint or not.

There's also a spray on product called "Sticker Shok" that many people swear by. The name describes the price, however.

Warm it up with hair dryer or heat gun, be EXTREMELY careful not to burn the paint if heat gun is used, that helps a lot. Also you may purchase a tape removal tool for your drill, cheap and effective as well. It's a round disc, usually yellow in colour, with that the remaining glue comes off like money out of mopar mans pockets.

If it's the plastic "stripe" that goes down the side of the car, judicoius use of a plastic wedge and rubber mallet will peel it off in a hurry (most of those just crack and fall apart leaving a nice black/grey sripe where the adhesive was...
