did anyone remove the hub from the front 10" brake drum? should I hammer on the hub with the drum on 2 wood or remove the extra metal on the wheel stud near the drum and pull the drum off. |

The studs have to come out first. The studs hold the drum to the hub very well. |

There's a little swedge over the stud holding the drum on. You need to cut the swedge off |

![]() I took off the heads by drilling the center with 1/2" bit and then using a chisel. All other methods of removing the head are preferable, unless you don't mind ruining drill bits. Looking at the five I removed this week, the swaged part of the stud that is flared out can be 1/8" long. If you have a way to cut the swage off, you need to cut about 1/8" deep. |
