Yeah. The Internet Slant Six Club first appeared on bev.net and moved to Tailfins.com later. I think that was when I first heard about Dan Stern and Doug Dutra, and probably some of the other well known gurus who now hang out here.

The Dodge Dart Page was another of the early, very useful resources. It used to be on Dodgedart.org, and before that it was on some domain name that I can't remember. Now it's gone, too.

There are two pages where I learned about slant sixes in the mid '90s that are still around. One of the Car Talk brothers used to drive a '63 Dart convertable, and they often fielded questions about it in their columns at cartalk.com. And Allpar has been around for a long time, too. Did they used to have a site on Simplenet.com before getting their own domain name, or am I thinking of someone else?

Yep, that was Ed Dreistadt's effort. Good one, too.

Naw, it's not gone, just moved. Half an hour after I learnt that Joey Newhouse had died, I grabbed and archived the whole site, against the probability that as soon as the hosting bill came due, the site would go dark. Which it did. You can now access the whole site off my server:

It's a wonder even a robust car like a '63 Dart managed to survive under the custody of those two morons.

Allpar used to be called something else I can't recall, something closer to Mopar, but Dave Zatz either got a nastygram from Chrysler's legal department, or decided he didn't want to get a nastygram from Chrysler's legal department, and changed the name.

Dan,
Glad you archived the Dodge Dart Page. I enjoyed that site as well. Did you end up with "Goldie"? Seems that I thought so-but can't remember for sure.

Glad to hear that the Dodge Dart page survives. Thank you for preserving it, Dan.

I didn't wind up with Goldilocks, no. I drove down to Ann Arbor to drive and photograph Big Ben and Goldilocks, then ran the auctions for both cars on eBay. Goldilocks did wind up here in Ontario!

One of these days I'll see about snagging dodgedart.org and tossing the site back up.
