Post subject: | Distibutor Mounting Plate? |
My '72 Duster was missing its distributor and mounting plate on my SL 6. I am putting back an electronic distibutor and converting the ignition over. Do I need a mounting plate (kinda looks like a plate with slots on either end) or a clamp assembly like my '80 SL6 to mount it? The FSM shows a plate assembly for the '72, but I am putting a newer distributor on an older style block. Can I get a plate or clamp assembly locally? bwhitejr |

You can use either style mounting as only the hold down changed and not the engine block or distributor. This is not a normal wear item and should be on the distributor. If not hit up a wrecking yard. |

The later 2 piece style allows for more adjustment when setting the timing. ![]() |
