Where can I find shorter length pushrods? Custom? Interchange?
Also, can you reuse Solid lifters?
1 More Stupid Question: Could you carefully drill out a lifter to "make" the pushrod shorter? Or would this cause problems?
Thanks

I don't know where to get shorter pushrods (never needed any), but I do know the answer to the second part of your question.

Old lifters can be reused on the same cam they where used on before. Just make sure to put them back into the exact same holes they came out of.

If you use old lifters on a new cam, you will wipe out a lobe on your camshaft. Lifters are cheap, just by a new set.

I am not sure you could drill a lifter. They are harder than billy hell.

I have reused old lifters on new cams before with no problems. I have seen more people lose cams with new lifters than old ones.

I would not recondmend using old lifters on a new cam . Use the same lifters with the same cam and Match them every galey. Smith Bros can build you any type pushrod you want . From mild to extreme, I have used them in my race engine for three years no problem. You get what you pay for. Thanks Ron Parker :D
