While at work today, one of my co workers came up to me and knowing that I'm a fan of most things mopar, he asked me how much I know about slant sixes.
In particular a neighbor of his just picked up a Yale forklift with a slant in it, and wants to switch it over to electronic ignition, because "he can't keep it running". I told him that while its not a hard conversion at all, it oughtta be able to be gotten running on its current setup fairly easily. My question is, (based on the fact that I haven't yet seen this thing) what type of ignition advance would something like this have (mech., and/or vacuum) and how much?? I have a couple of old wiring harnesses and ignition boxes that I could use to put together a "conversion kit" from, but unsure of what I oughtta do for a distributor. Would a late 70s Volare one suffice or is there a better app?
