Are the spring hangers for a 71/4 rear the same as the ones on an 83/4 rear? I think the springs are the same dimensions, just wondering about the bushings, or any other differences.

hanger and shackles are all the same... the only thing that changes between the 2 rear ends is the u bolts that hold the diff to the springs and the shock plates they bolt to.

Don't forget you will have to shorten your driveshaft ~1.75" - This figure varies depending on who you ask. You can always install the rear, move car to flat surface, slip the yoke on your tranny pushing it in all the way, pull it out an inch or so then measure.

The eyebolt might be a different size. I've seen at least 3 different eyebolt sizes on A body cars. 1/2, 9/16 and 5/8. There might even be a 7/16 eyebolt size on the early cars but I'm not positive on that one.

andyf is correct. The hanger box did go from 3 bolts to 4 bolts at some time, but I don't know what year the change was made.
