Post subject: | Brake drums for 63 Dart |
I just bought four new 9" brake drums from an Ebay store for a maybe too-good-to-be true-price of $24 each delivered. They're stamped as follows: All four: "made in USA", "Century" Front drums: 9.090 maximum width Rear drums: 9.060 maximum width Additionally, the boxes containing the front and rear drums are marked as follows: (front) A/S AD-8303, Bendix 140178, Raybestos 2940, Wagner 60082 (rear) A/S AD-8304, Bendix 140179, Raybestos 2941, Wagner 60083 Measured outboard to inboard: The front drums are 3" wide with an extra 1/2" lip The rear drums are 2.5" wide with an extra 3/8" lip Possibly the A/S AD numbers are for the Century brand (which I never heard of) or else are code numbers used by the Ebay store. So, are these drums OK for my 63 Dart 225 with manual brakes? |

Century's been making junk for years :-\ They'll work, and might be "less bad" than some of the even stinkier junk out of China... |
