I picked up a mopar action the other day and was reading that there is now a kit to put a electrionic od on a 904a by keisler. My question is, is a kit or a hole new trans. and will it work with the high start? Anyone else read this. mopar action april 2007 it start on page 72. If so, would it be a good investment

Mm. See here and here.

Don't see mention of any such a kit on Keisler's site (they want you to replace your Torqueflite with a Tremec unit, and don't offer it with slant-6 bellhousing pattern), but Gear Vendors will sell you an electric-overdrive tailhousing replacement for an A904. Got a spare $3K...?

For the cost of adding another gear that way you can buy a lot of fuel.

For 3.2K you can get a Richmond 6-spd w/ OD from Summit. From the little research I've done it looks like you're stuck having to have a bellhousing (or adapter) specially made for it though. Now THAT would be a cool way to go if it could be done without alot of heartache (and wallet pain). Myself I just read an article in this month's Car Craft about a new gearset for the 833 that offers an OD 4th gear. Looks like it'd be a great way to go for a slant powered car.
