Hello,I picked up an A-100 van in pieces,it came with a fresh /6 long shaft, lockup torque 727,dont know year. My question is,does the converter lock at a pre determined speed internally or is the control electricaly activated ? I know, wrong trans for the short A-100 but this is going in a Ford 1 ton ,dont ask ..lol.. thanks

IIRC, all the Slant lockups should be activated through the valve body, no electrics needed.

Are you really sure that it's a 727 (not a 904) and that it's got a lockup converter?

I have seen a few lockup 727's out of later vans/pickups. If the case has an ear where the dipstick goes in and the input has a pilot on it like a 4 speed trans, it is a 727 lockup. :D
