I read somewhere that someone had the inside of their gas tank cleaned and I just wanted to know where you would have that done at?

Look in your local phone book for some radiator repair shops, they usually do that type of work. While you are at it spend a few extra bucks and have them install a tank drain.

been down this road before on a-bodies and old trucks. get a new tank. it won't be significantly more than to pay for a tank than the labor at the radiator shop AND you may end up replacing it any way. (at least that is what happened to me)

last tank i had done = $80

tank re-rusted (my fault for being slow)

bought new tank = $120 + shipping

no problems since, but i do say get new gaskets for the filler neck and the sender.

I do have a semi new tank in my 74 dart it is about 3 years old or so and when I first got it I coated it with por-15 so it shouldn't rust out from the outside

Where did you get a gas tank for $120, most ive seen are over $200?
Also the little electrical connector part on the outside of the tank broke off, can this be fixed or is it just new tank time?

You can clean it yourself with electrolysis. I did this on an old tractor with such good results that my uncle decided to try it on his corvette. My uncle was going to pay $300.00 for an aftermarket tank but ended up cleaning and sealing the tank for a little over $50.00. www.fboeger.com is where I got my info for cleaning with electrolysis and ebay is where I got the tank sealer. I think I spent about $25.00 doing the tractor. I love ebay.

don't know how badly busted up your sender is, but they are available new. they come up on ebay all the time and i'm sure there are other sources for them.

i suppose if you put your tank right back into service after having it cleaned by a GOOD radiator shop, it would work out. i'd still see about getting the new filler neck gasket, though. if you are getting a new sending unit, it will come with that gasket.
