Sorry if this has been asked before. Searched and didn't quite get the answer.

Here's the situation. I've been gathering parts for a couple years, and I almost have my carport ready to start working on the rig. (Home projects come first).

I have all the parts for the disc brake swap and got a Gonga deal on a sway bar the guy thought was out of a Duster. Here are my questions

#1 can I reuse my 66 LCAs for the swap and can I just weld tabs on them for the bar?

#2 I have heard that I need to know the specifics on the bar to know where to mount it. Can't I just find the best place?

#3 With the Calipers on the front will there be interferance?

I hope I have been specific enough for answers. Thanks in advance.

#1 - Yes, no problem to weld tabs onto your arms.

#2 - You can just find the best place, but it might help to look at a few pics of where stock and other aftermarket bars mount. If your bar is from a 72-down A-body, then it will be pretty obvious where to mount it. The 73-up cars pass the bar through the late K frame.

#3 - If you weld the sway bar tabs so that the bar sits below the LCA, there should be no caliper interference. This is the way I have done it on my 64 and 66 cars. This makes the sway bar outer arm roughly parallel with the strut rods as well, which I think has some geometry advantages.
