Mike petitioned the NHRA about the way his Slant motor is factored and eneded up getting to take some weight out of the car. As a result he went .83 under at the Mopar Mile High Nationals! :D :D :D

Car is an '80 Diplomat 2 door that weighs over 3000# and runs a BBD.

Congrats Mike on doing a great job! :D :D :D

Looks like the slant was out early.... just wondering ... do the EFI cars handle 90 degrees and 8100 foot air better than the older stockers? anybody know or care to chime in? dr

To a certain extent they do. Mike's biggest problem on race day is that he has very little useable data to dial the car off of. He now has only 5 passes on the car the way it sits now. Since he took weight out all his old data is basically useless.

The Eliminator is pretty much all bracket racing unless you draw a car from your own class. Those are the only heads-up runs, and the EFI cars would have a definite advantage there.

If you look at the names left in the 4th round, most all are past National event winners or past Stock champions. Other past Champs went out in Rd2. This ain't no turkey shoot.

Mike was running 16's at Denver. At sea level the car will probably go into the 14's. :D

First off, thanks to Mr. Jeffrey for getting horsepower reduced on the slant six. There are some good pictures of the car at Auto Imagery.com I have a few questions about his car. How would I get in touch with him?
