Is it safe to remove material from the inner fender wells of an early A body? I would like to hole saw some lightning holes in them to continue the "Holy Signet!" theme for my car. I have them mapped out in three lines(holes are 2 1/4")and arent close to the shock mounts or the leading and top edge which is where they probably are the strongest? Any thoughts or concerns on this?

All this for saving what, less then 5 lb? Look elsewhere...

I did it on my '66. I've cut some pretty large areas out. Lots of A bodies get the fenderwells cut out for headers and it doesn't hurt a thing.

What can i say, I love the looks of speed holes. It's not so much for the weight savings but for the look, Im doin a Super stock/Modified production "styled" car and Im doin speed holes where ever I can, just want to know if this is dangerous or not. Thanks.
