I bought an 88,000 mile engine and automatic transmission out of a duster a while back but dont need the transmission. The guy I bought it from said the car ran great but he was putting a v8 in it. If anybody wants the transmission let me know. Just come get it. I was there when he pulled the engine out and saw the transmission fluid and it didnt look or smell burnt. The transmission is in New Smyrna beach, Florida.

I'm interested. How much do you want for the trans? I'm close enough, to pick it up.

You can have it if you want it. I have absolutely no use for it .

OK, I'll take it. PM me your phone number and a good time to call, and I'll make arrangements to pick it up.

Like they say in Drag racing, "you snooze, you lose".

Bren, do you need the trans? I was going to keep it for parts, and/or future project. I can use it, but if you need it for your car, go for it. I am not in a hurry for one, and can wait for the next one.

Not really. It would be a spare that has a large input shaft. It sounds like its a working transmission id be ashame to tare it down. If I got it now I'd likely rebuild it or use it for parts to lower the cost of my trans rebuild. I'd say you found it first, its yours.

What you really need for good parts is a 318 trans. That will give you the big input and pump too, plus the 4 disc clutches and 4 pinion steel planetaries. :D

Hey zilla-- are you sure all slant 904's have the 3 disc style? My 62 FSM< says the 225 cars also have the heavier 4 disc set-up-- the 170 cars have the 3. Just curious as this is printed matter & not real world expereince.

On another note do any parts from a 727 swap with a 904? thanks Lawrence

Every 904 that I have seen come apart from a Slant has had 3 disc clutches and 3 pinion planetaries.

About all that will easily swap from a 727 is the valve body.

That is why I have a Chrysler transmission expert to build my transmissions. Damn he is good. Thanks Ron Parker :D
