I am taking my head apart for cleaning purposes only. Hey, its off the engine. Might as well right?

I know the valves have to go back in the same place, and I have been keeping them all numbered.

What about the springs and retainers? On the slant is there a exhaust spring and an intake spring, or are they all the same? What about the spring retainers? I can see that the keepers are 2 or 3 grooves depending on intake and exhaust, but will any retainer work with any valve?

Thanks guys,

Chris E

Well I miked the retainers and the springs, every single one is the same. Course that doesn't mean the springs don't have different rates, but they are definitely all the same size.

Guess if the engine doesnt' run right I'll know

Springs are the same. Retainers are the same. Locks are intake vs. exhaust.
